The facilitation centre functions from
9 O' clock in the morning to
half past seven in the evening.
At the information desk you can get brochures and information pamphlets
about the services at Thenmala Eco-tourism. Tickets can be brought at
the counter for boating, musical fountain, Adventure Zone and
Leisure Zone.
The restaurant is run by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation.Various cultural programs unique to Kerala are presented at the amphi theatre. It can accommodate about 1250 people. Around 800 people can see the musical fountain at a time. Shows are held in the evenings. But there will be no show, if a minimum number of tourists are not around. Each show last about 30 minutes.
Trekking in the sanctuary is run by Eco-development committees, registered with the Forest Department. Dharbakulam trail, Kallar trail and Kattilppara-Choodal bird watching trail are the three eco-tourism packages offered at present. Pedal boating and row boating in Ottakal reservoir also is proposed to be implemented through the Eco-development committees. Another proposal is to have a butterfly park in the Culture Zone.
