Leisure Zone is a natural
forest patch specked with sculptures. It is a
piece
of natural forest converted into a zone for a leisurely walk.
You can see monkeys all around the place swinging from tree to tree.
Some may sit
on the branch and stare at you.
There are a variety of sculptures in the
zone. Man and Nature is the theme of the sculpture garden. As many as
23 sculptures dot the garden. One of the biggest
sculpture is that of Ekalavyan aiming at a dog. There is also a
large-sized Vikramaaditya and Vethalam. (Pictures on the left).
On the top right and below are pictures of some of the sculptures. They
are (from top to bottom anticlockwise): Beauty of the Soul; Swimming in
Space, Searching for Peace; Liberation is a Perpetual Process; People
may Meet in Candle Light But to Unite, the Soul needs Inner Light; Can
you Locate What the Child Points to?; The Cosmic Energy is One, But Men
may See it in Many Forms; Jungle Bath and Nature- the Great Puppeter.
You can have a view of the Parappar dam
and
power house from the zone. Downstream of the
dam is a Hanging Bridge. It
will sway as you walk through it.
