We started from Trivandrum early in the
morning and drove to Thenmala through the valleys of Western Ghats.
Trees stood on both sides of the road. It was a pleasant journey, and
we
reached Thenmala by 9 a. m.
There are many things to see at Thenmala ecotourism destination--
beautiful trees, foliage and
parks. We went on
a boat ride through Kallada reservoir.
At the Adventure Zone, you can walk to the tree tops
through an elevated bridge. Or experience the thrill of crossing
the river and climbing the rocks.
The Leisure Zone is a small forest, dotted with more than 20 thematic
sculptures.
The place also has a Culture Zone. The main attraction is a musical
dancing fountain.
The latest addition is the Butterfly Park behind the musical fountain.

Asia's first Butterfly Safari Park opened at Thenmala Ecotourism
Destination, Kerala, on February 22 with around 125 butterfly
species.
